Barbara Jean (Williamson) Dowdy, age 73, of Cleveland passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 18th, 2020 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Dowdy enjoyed flower gardening, reading and was an avid Alabama football fan. She loved volunteering with St. Jude's and the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Disease. Left to cherish special memories are son Stephen Wayne (Michelle) Dowdy; daughter Karen Dowdy (Delane) Brown; brothers Johnny Williamson, Joe (Shirley) Williamson, Kenny (Melissa) Williamson; grandchildren Shelby (Adam) Carpenter, Madison Dowdy, Seth Dowdy, Amelia Dowdy, Peyton Richards, Carson Richards; great grandchildren Wyatt and Kinsley Carpenter. She is preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Dorothy Williamson; sister Sharon Williamson Thrash. Due to Covid -19 restrictions there will be a private family funeral service. Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
