Betty (Blackwood) Millican, 87, passed away on January 12, 2025, in Pell City, Alabama. Born on July 9, 1937, in Cleveland, Alabama, she was the cherished daughter of James Verbon and Carrie Vincent Blackwood.
Betty was known for her love of reading, solving crossword puzzles, and her enthusiasm for NASCAR, Alabama football, and the Atlanta Braves. She brought joy and laughter to all who knew her.
She was a devout member of Faith Baptist Church, where she found great comfort and community throughout her life.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Dismukes; sister, Eugenia Holmes; grandchildren, Danny Smith, Dalton Dismukes (Katy), and Jillian Dismukes; and great-grandchildren, Josh Smith, Karla Smith, Tinley Dismukes, Amelia Dismukes, and Adeline Dismukes. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Denise Smith; grandchild, Tiffany Sherrod; and sister, Ann Lawson.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel, where the funeral services will also be held at 12:00 pm the same day.
Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, AL, is assisting the family with arrangements. Betty's presence will be sorely missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
