Bill E. Murphree, born on September 25, 1927, surrounded by his family, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024, to be with his Heavenly Father. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Claud and Gladys Murphree, Bessie Belu, and his son, Steve Murphree.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Linda Howard Murphree; his son Mike (Lisa) Murphree; his daughters Billie Jo Murphree, Candace (Ryan) Murphree Pinyan; his son Frank (Marquette) Nix; his daughters Joy Nix Maggiore, and Lawane (Mickey) Nix Owen. He was the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren: Miranda, Megan, Anthony, Wesley, Zachary, Olivia, Jacob, Everly, Colton, and Cassie; and 10 great-grandchildren: Riley, Murphy, Jase, Carter Luke, Brantley, Lileigh, Sawyer, Cooper, Rhett, Charlsey and Jaxxon; along with one great-great-granddaughter, Mikey.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Blount County - Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel from 11:00am until 1:00pm. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm in the chapel and burial will take place at Nectar First Congregational Methodist.

Pallbearers: Son, Mike Murphree, grandsons, Anthony Maggiore, Wesley Nix, Zachary Oden, Colton Bearden, Jacob Holaway.

Honorary Pallbearers are Jacob Pinyan, Jase Nix and Carter Luke Nix.

Bill will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will be cherished by all who knew him.
