Bobby Joe's career as a truck driver spanned many years, a vocation that not only supported his family but also became a defining part of his identity. He took pride in his work and embraced the freedom of the highway. Alongside his trucking career, Bobby Joe had a keen interest in selling produce, a hobby that connected him with his community and allowed him to share his love of fresh goods.

Beyond his professional life, Bobby Joe was an avid fan of the Alabama football team, faithfully cheering them on through seasons of triumphs and challenges. His enthusiasm extended to his favorite movie, "Smokey and the Bandit," which he enjoyed watching time and again, appreciating its spirited adventure and sense of fun.

Family was at the heart of Bobby Joe's world. He held a deep affection for his ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, cherishing the moments spent with them and the joy they brought into his life. He is survived by his loving children: daughters Mona Owens and Lillie Mae Anderson (Joe), sons Bobby Joe Herndon (Sarah) and Jacob Herndon (Angel), his brother Robert Dale Herndon, and sister Linda Sue Herndon. Their presence reflects the strong bonds that Bobby Joe cultivated throughout his lifetime.

Bobby Joe was preceded in death by his parents, TJ and Willie Mae Herndon, and his brother Charles Jesse Herndon. Their memories remain an integral part of the legacy he leaves behind.
