Edward Frank Bresnahan, born on October 27, 1941, passed away on January 16, 2026. He dedicated 50 years of his career to Alabama Power, where he was known for his commitment and strong work ethic.
A devoted member of the Locust Fork Baptist Church, Edward found great joy in sharing home-cooked meals with family and friends. He was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide, a passion that brought him much delight, especially when surrounded by loved ones. However, his greatest joy came from being a grandfather, affectionately known as "Grandaddy" to his grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them, often enjoying simple pleasures like taking naps after engaging in heartfelt conversations.
Edward is survived by his daughter, Robin Zanaty (Charlie); his daughter, Penny Owen (Lee); his son, Lance Bresnahan (Candi); his grandchildren, Savannah Beasley (Michael), Skylar Zanaty, Garrett Bresnahan, Samuel Bresnahan, Camille McCracken (Brodie), Chaz Zanaty, and Gabe Bresnahan; as well as his great-grandchildren, Chanlee Beasley and Owen Beasley.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Betty Lloyd Bresnahan; his parents, Frank and Ella Louise Bresnahan; and his siblings, brother Tonnie Bresnahan, and sisters Mary Clemons, Dora Faye McDaniel, and Nora Sullivan.
Funeral services for Edward will be held at Locust Fork Baptist Church on January 21, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM, followed by burial at Pine Bluff Cemetery at 3:00 PM. A visitation will occur at the same church on January 21, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Pallbearers will include Michael Beasley, Brodie McCracken, Garrett Bresnahan, Samuel Bresnahan, Chaz Zanaty, and Gabe Bresnahan. Edward's passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those he touched, and he will be dearly missed by family and friends alike.
