Edward Brown Logan, Jr

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to Edward Brown Logan, Jr, who passed away on July 28, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on February 15, 1945, Edward’s journey was one marked by an abiding love for family, an irrepressible curiosity, and a zest for life’s simple pleasures.

Edward’s presence was one of warmth and reliability. He took joy in the world around him, whether sitting beside a quiet river with a fishing pole in hand or losing himself in the unfolding stories on television. Old Rock N' Roll music was the background to many of his days, echoing through his home and heart—a steady reminder of cherished moments and memories.

His hands were ever busy: Edward loved to fix things, to carefully bring new life to what others might have set aside. He was the family’s dependable problem-solver, the one to call when something stopped working or when advice and understanding were needed most. Perhaps it was this same inclination that led him to long conversations over the C.B. radio, where he would connect with friends both near and far—sharing laughter, wisdom, and stories late into the night.

Above all, Edward was devoted to those he loved. His family was the center of his world, and every accolade and repartee was made sweeter by their company. He is also survived by his daughter, Nancy Burkett, and his son, Daniel Logan (Rebecca), both of whom carry forward his legacy of steadfast love. 

Edward’s joys multiplied with the blessings of grandchildren and great grandchildren: Brittney Edwards, Vj Murray, Dillon Murray, Mary Reeves, Becky Saravia, Michelle Logan, Calder Murray, Kensley Murray, Tyler Alexander, Noah Edwards, Benjamin Edwards, Nova Reeves, and Daisy Reeves each treasured special bonds with him. Memories made during family gatherings, holidays, and everyday moments will continue to shine brightly in their hearts. His sisters, Carol McCombs and Patsy Cobb, and his sister-in-law, Patty Eggleston, also mourn the loss of his gentle spirit and unwavering companionship.

His journey joins those of cherished family who preceded him in death: his daughter Lisa McEntire; his father Edward Logan, Sr; his mother Mary Loggins Logan; his brothers Rudy and Donald Logan; his sister Betty Marsh; and his son-in-law Richard Burkett. He is also preceded in death by his best friend and the mother of his children, Brenda Burk. Their memories remain a tapestry interwoven with his own, a testament to the love and meaning they shared together.

Edward’s legacy rests not only in the milestones of his life but in the everyday kindness he extended, the laughter he brought, and the encouragement he gave to those around him. His appreciation for music, conversation, and time spent together will continue to inspire all fortunate enough to have known him.

Family and friends are invited to remember Edward at a graveside service, to be held at Bethlehem Cemetery on August 1, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Together, we will gather to honor a life truly well-lived—a man whose love, wisdom, and goodness touched so many and whose memory will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
