Encarnacion Tomas Calvo, better known as Yonnie, passed away on November 4, 2024, at the age of 37 in Cleveland, Alabama. Born on March 2, 1987, in Guatemala, Yonnie built a life full of love and dedication to his family and community.

Yonnie was a cherished member of the Community Bible Church in Cleveland, Alabama, where his faith and fellowship were an integral part of his life. He had a passion for soccer, both as a player and a spectator, and took great pride in maintaining other people's yards and his own, always ensuring that all looked its best. Above all, his greatest joy was the time spent with his family, whom he loved profoundly.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 17 years, Kimberly Lynn Calvo; his son, Anthony Calvo; daughters, Ashley Vanzandt, Abigail Calvo, and Korina Vanzandt; his parents, Domingo Tomas and Martina Mejia; five brothers, including Juan Mejia (Antonia), Domingo Mejia (Esperanza), and Miguel Calvo; four sisters; and two special nephews, Diego and Balvino Hernandez. Yonnie is also survived by his mother-in-law, Katherine Vanzandt, along with numerous nieces, nephews, church family, and friends who will miss him dearly.

The chapel service to honor Yonnie's life will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel, located at 17885 State Highway 160 Cleveland, Alabama 35049. Visitation will take place the same day from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Bro. Jr Thomas will officiate the service, burial will follow in Easley Cemetery in Oneonta, Al, with pallbearers being Chris Thomas, Thomas Curtis, Randy Tidwell, Jason Thomas, Marcus Johnson and Jose Morales. The Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home is assisting the family during this difficult time.
