Isabell Johnson, a beloved matriarch, devoted mother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, in Cleveland, Alabama. She was born on August 14, 1923, in Kansas, to Robert and Isabelle Filson Glenn, who instilled in her the values of love, faith, and family that she carried throughout her life. She was 101 years old at the time of her passing.

Isabell lived a life rich in love and devotion, surrounded by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale Johnson; her son, Leon Martindale; her son-in-law, Charles Landers; and numerous siblings. Despite these profound losses, Isabell remained a beacon of strength and resilience for her family.

Isabell is survived by her daughters, Susan Landers and Angela Smart (John), who have been profoundly influenced by her unwavering love and guidance. She was a proud grandmother to Charles Landers, Jacob Landers (Sharenna), Heather Fiessler (Shawn), Zack Irons (Holly), Joshua Smart, Patrick Smart (Anna), and Autumn Brown (Matthew). Her legacy continues through her 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom brought her immense joy.

Family was the center of Isabell's universe. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always taking the time to nurture their spirits with her warmth and kindness. Isabell was the glue that held her family together, a God-fearing lady who prayed for and with those she loved. Her unwavering faith was a source of comfort to all who knew her, and many will remember her as a woman who truly embodied the spirit of family and community.

In her leisure time, Isabell found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a particular fondness for watching "Gunsmoke" and old westerns, reveling in the stories and characters that brought her happiness. Isabell was known for her vibrant personality – a true firecracker who loved getting her hair done and always enjoyed doing for others. Her zest for life and her nurturing spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of Isabell's life will take place on December 21, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Lord's House of Prayer. Friends and family are invited to share their memories and honor a woman who touched so many hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Huntington's Foundation, a cause that was important to Isabell and her family. The family would like to thank Dr. Harris and his Staff at Complete Health and Compassus Hopice for everything they did for their mother and grandmother.

As we remember Isabell Johnson, let us celebrate her incredible legacy of love, faith, and kindness. She leaves behind a family who will carry her memory in their hearts forever, striving to embody the same spirit of compassion and devotion that she so freely shared with the world.
