Obituary

Jack Pass, of the Royal Community, passed away at his residence on February 19, 2024 at the age of 91. Born on July 18, 1932, in Blount County,he was a 1950 graduate of Cleveland High School and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Pass retired as the owner of a water filter business but continued cattle farming until 2022.

He was a member and deacon at Cleveland First Baptist Church where he attended and served faithfully his entire life. He was an integral part of the construction process of both the original and current church buildings.

Mr. Pass was preceded in death by his parents Cleo and Bonnie Adams Pass, his wife of 58 years Janice Murphree Pass, brothers Amos Pass (Janet) and Henry Pass (Carolyn). He is survived by his three daughters Myra Thomas (Larry), Malinda Morton (Danny) and Vanessa Brown (Wayne), four grandsons Jonathan Thomas (Wendy), Mitchell Thomas (Hilary), Lee Morton, and Benny Brown, four great grandchildren Macey Thomas, Haley Thomas, Makayla Bryant, Kelton Thomas and brother Arnold Pass (Betty).

Bro. Ralph McGowan, George Fowler, and Bro. Randy Mahaffey will conduct funeral services at Cleveland First Baptist Church on Friday, February 23 at 2:00pm. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 12:00. Burial at Cleveland Memory Garden.

Pallbearers: Jonathan Thomas, Mitchell Thomas, Lee Morton, Benny Brown, Steve Pass and George Fowler. Honorary pallbearer James Barwick.
