James Allen Burgess, Jr. age 76 of Blountsville, AL passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at the VA Medical Center in Birmingham.

Survivors include his son Steven Burgess, daughter Dawn Burgess (Mark) sister Kathy Minor (Ken) grandchildren Ashley Tidwell (Eric), Alan Burchfield (Amanda) Alaura Bell and eight great grandchildren. Mr. Burgess is preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Allen Burgess and Rosa Mae Knight Burgess and sister Phyllis Batton.

Mr. Burgess enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He studied the history of Native Americans & the Cherokee. He loved going to the tribes "Pow Wow's" for many years. .

The family will plan a "Celebration of Life" to be announced for a later date.
