Mr. James Carl Hogland, age 85, of Cleveland passed away Wednesday, October 12th, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. James was a veteran of the Korean War and a carpenter by trade who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is preceded in death by his parents John Henry and Fennie Hogland, sons James Daniel and Johnny Lynn Hogland and 7 siblings. Surviving are wife Mary Louise Hogland; 2 daughters Gina Louise Rich (Barry) of Odenville, Paula Dee McInvale (James) of Jackson's Gap; 2 sisters Bessie Cain of Blountsville and Edna O'Brien of Georgia; 2 sister in laws Martha Jane McCrory of Oneonta and Patty Mathews (Leonard) of Pell City; a very special and close friend of the family Bill Bryant; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, October 15th, 2016 at 1:00 pm in Mount Joy Cemetery 2311 Five Points Road Cleveland, Alabama 35049. In lieu of flowers, family request donations may be made to Alacare Hospice 1409 A Second Ave East Oneonta, AL 35121. Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
