Janey Irene Head age 83, of Blountsville, Alabama passed away Thursday, December 28th, 2023 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

Miss Head is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She is survived by her beloved dogs Bama, Ginger, Jake, Charlie, Kevin and Zaliey. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Irene Blackwood Head, siblings. Sarah Head Hendrix, Tommy, Charley, Carlton "Key" and her twin Jerry Head.

The family will receive friends at Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home 17885 St. Hwy 160 Cleveland, Alabama 35049 Sunday, December 31st, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, December 31st, 2023 at 2:00 pm. in the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland, Alabama.

Miss Head graduated with a PhD from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was a very cultured woman, she loved classical music, art, architecture and redecorating houses. She was an avid sports fan especially Alabama Football and the Atlanta Braves. She loved and defended her family with fierce determination.
