JC "James" Hagood, a beloved figure in the Trafford, Alabama community, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on April 15, 1940, in Walker County, Alabama, JC was a man who touched the lives of many with his warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends.

JC was the cherished son of Russell Morgan Hagood and Jessie Mae (Morris) Hagood. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Carolyn Hagood, one brother, and six sisters, who all held a special place in his heart. His legacy, however, continues through those who survive him: his devoted wife of 26 years, Pamela C. (Higginbotham) Hagood; his sons, Anthony Smith, Jonathan Smith, and Jaiden Taft; and his daughters, Vickie Hagood Bell, Kyla Smith Cordell (Carlin), Ryleigh Taft, and Makynnah Taft. He is also survived by a very special companion and friend, his beloved dog Willie, along with 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 2 more on the way, as well as numerous other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

JC was an active member of the Youngblood Chapel Holiness Church, where he nurtured his faith and shared his infectious spirit with others. A true Alabama football fan, he was known for his spirited discussions about the game and his passionate support of his team. JC's love for racing was another of his cherished pastimes, and he could often be found cheering for his favorites on the track.

Beyond his interests, it was his sense of humor and facetious nature that brought joy to those around him. He had a unique ability to lighten the mood, making everyone feel at ease with his playful banter. JC took great pride in his home, spending countless hours working in the yard, ensuring it looked beautiful for his family and friends. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored beyond measure.

His passing leaves a significant void in the hearts of all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday March 15, 2025 at The Way of Holiness at Youngblood Chapel 545 Spoonhandle Road, Trafford, Alabama 35172 with Bro. Justin Lee officiating. The visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday March 15, 2025 at the church. Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, Alabama, is honored to assist the Hagood family during this difficult time.

JC "James" Hagood will be remembered not just for his kindness, humor, and devotion, but for the love he shared with all who were fortunate enough to be a part of his life. His spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his family and friends as they celebrate the remarkable life he lived. In lieu of flowers, the family ask with greatful hearts, that donations be made to the wife to help out with some expenses.
