Mrs. H. Jean Ridgeway Smith age 89 of Cleveland, Al passed away June 15, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. Survivors include her daughters Kathy Pearman (Frank), Karen Gamble (Gerald), Kristy Posey (Greg), grandchildren Derek Pearman (Allison), Adam Gamble (Elizabeth), Katie Boyd (Richard), Andrew Baker, Paige Grimes (Mason) and Ty Posey (Cheyenne), great grandchildren Caroline Boyd, Ryan Gamble, Knox Peoples, Amber and Anna Frey, sisters Jeanette Sherrer, Maerene Spray and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband Leo Hobson Smith, son Steven Hobson Smith, parents Rev. Robert Homer Ridgeway and Vera Bynum Ridgeway, brother Ernest Ridgeway. The family will receive friends at Green's Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 811 Green's Chapel Road, Cleveland, Alabama 35049 on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Friday June 18th, 2021 at 3:00 pm in Greens Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow in Green's Chapel cemetery. Pall bearers will be Derek Pearman, Adam Gamble, Andrew Baker, Richard Boyd, Larry Sherrer & Mark Edwards. The family would like to give a special thanks to Compassus Hospice and Janice Cooley for their care. Mrs. Smith enjoyed reading, watching game shows and traveling. She also enjoyed Alabama Football and the Atlanta Braves. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She was a member of Green's Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was a member and past officer of the Church Women's Group (CPW).
