John Remus Clowdus Jr., age 79, of Oneonta passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24th, 2019. Mr. Clowdus sang with the quartet " The Valleyaires ". He is a member of Fowler Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed woodworking, photography, reading, and genealogy. He doted on his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Left to cherish precious memories are his wife Irene Clowdus; sons John Stephen Clowdus, Donald Joseph Clowdus, Barry Lynn Clowdus (Tonya); daughter Jennifer Kaye Clowdus Chambers (Chris); brothers Larry Dale Clowdus (Debbie), Michael Dan Clowdus (Donna); grandchildren Michelle Hunter (Keith), Nicole Stewart (Marty), Brandi Sivley, Sarah Bedell (Steven), Michael Haygood, Lauren Haygood, Katie Chambers, Grayson Chambers, Jenna Chambers; great grandchildren Shelby Harris, Emerie Stewart, Shiloh Osborne, Jett Hunter, Truman Hunter. He is preceded in death by his parents John Remus Clowdus Sr and Jeanette Hoagland Clowdus, his brother Jerry Clyde Clowdus. The family will receive friends at the Fowler Springs Baptist Church on Thursday, September 26th, 2019 from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held following Thursday, September 26th, 2019 at 2:00 pm in Fowler Springs Baptist Church. Burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Oneonta, Alabama.
