Mr. Johnny Lee Redfern, age 72, of Oneonta, previously of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Monday, February 22nd, 2016 at his residence surrounded by family. He was an enthusiastic football fan, especially for the Green Bay Packers; an avid Nascar fan; enjoyed watching westerns; and had a special affection for animals. Mr. Redfern is survived by his loving daughters Angela (Bill) Powers, Mary Redfern Castle; 7 brothers and sisters; his adoring grandchildren Joshua Powers, Jonathan Powers, Emily Castle and Claire Castle. He is preceded in death by his parents Sidney and Mary Redfern. The family will receive friends at the Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home 17885 State Highway 160 Cleveland, Alabama 35049 on Thursday, February 25th, 2016 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 25th, 2016 at 11:30 am in Dailey's Chapel Cemetery 222 Bynum Drive Oneonta, Alabama 35121, with interment following. Blount County/ Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
