Larry Joe Thomas age 73, of Hayden passed away Sunday, May 9th, 2021 at his residence. Survivors include his son General Lee Thomas(Jessica), daughters Amy Nichols (Chris), Ashley Spurlin (Corey), Tara Best (Chad), former wife and mother of his children Rhonda Thomas, brothers Terry Thomas (Barbara), Kerry Thomas (Jane), grandchildren Gracie Thomas, Madi Thomas, Garrett Nichols, Grant Nichols, Calista Nichols, Harper Spurlin, Hannah Spurlin, Lucas Spurlin, Hudson Best and Porter Best. He is preceded In death by his parents General Clark and Pauline Swann Thomas Sr., and 7 brothers. The family will receive friends at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church Wednesday, May 12th, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 13th, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hayden, Al. Mr. Thomas was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist church and had been a rural mail carrier since 1974.
