Mrs. Linda Blackwood (Minton), aged 78, passed away on December 16, 2024, in Oneonta, Alabama. Born on September 10, 1946, in Blyville, Arkansas, Linda was a cherished member of her community and a beloved figure within her family.

Married to Edwin Blackwood, a Primitive Baptist minister, Linda embraced a life filled with love, faith, and joy. She was known for her culinary skills, especially in making sweets for her children and grandchildren, and her passion for camping and travel, with a particular fondness for the American West. Linda's deep faith was reflected in her active participation in her church, and she held a special place in her heart for animals, especially horses.

Linda leaves behind a loving family, including her husband Edwin, sons Kim (Rachel) and Jerry, daughter Karen Allen, and sister Mary Sue Sides. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Brandon Lamar Blackwood, Alexandra Shea Blackwood, Lauralei Allen, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Thelma (Stewart) Minton.

The funeral services will be held at Blount County/ Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, AL, on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 2 pm. Visitation is scheduled on the same day from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Linda will be laid to rest at Mt. Joy Cemetery in Cleveland, Alabama. The Blount County/ Cleveland Funeral Home is assisting the family during this time.
