Margaret Mary Wiley (Schmuck), passed away on June 22, 2024, at the age of 85 in Birmingham, Alabama. Born on August 10, 1938, in Cullman, Alabama, Margaret led a life marked by dedication to her community and an unwavering faith.

Margaret's career was as diverse as it was impactful. She spent 20 years teaching at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church, followed by a decade as an administrator at Switzer Elementary School in Kansas City, Missouri. Later, she returned to Alabama to serve as a Registered Nurse at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama for 18 years.

A devout member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Oneonta, Alabama, Margaret's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found joy in tending to her garden, a hobby that reflected her nurturing spirit, and she cherished her collection of angel figurines. Her commitment to her faith was further exemplified by her dedication to taking communion to the sick, a service that brought comfort to many.

Margaret's loving nature and infectious laughter earned her the nickname "Giggles," a testament to the light she brought into the lives of those around her. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, James Richard Wiley, her sister Frances Mercer, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will dearly miss her presence.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph T. and Barbara Mary Link Schmuck, along with four brothers and three sisters.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday July, 05 2024 at 11:00 am at the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel with Father Jim Hedderman officiating. There will be no visitation. The Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, AL, is assisting the family during this time. Margaret's legacy of kindness, devotion, and service will forever be remembered by her loved and cherished community.
