Raymond Alfred Silva, a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, in Oneonta, Alabama, at the age of 72. He was born on February 16, 1953, in San Diego, California, to Leonard Roy and Marilyn Annetta (Fetherhuff) Silva, who preceded him in death.
Raymond was a man of many passions and deep convictions. He grew up immersed in the vibrant world of the restaurant business, a legacy that remained a central part of his life. His love for this industry was matched only by his devotion to his family. He was the proud father of three children: Daniel Jones and his wife Sabrina, Kenny Jones, Marilyn Silva and her husband Robert Nelson. Raymond's family brought him immeasurable joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
In addition to his role as a father, Raymond was a dedicated grandfather to his beloved grandchildren, Aryanna Jones and Samuel Jones. His love for them was evident, and he took great pride in watching them grow and flourish. He was also a cherished uncle to his niece, Corrinna Scafidi, who stood by him through thick and thin.
Raymond was known for his warm spirit and his unwavering faith. He had a deep love for music, particularly playing the bass guitar, which brought him joy and connection to those around him. Whether he was strumming his guitar or sharing a laugh with family, Raymond's presence was always a source of light. He also found solace in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing, where he could appreciate the beauty of nature and reflect on the blessings of life.
As a man who loved to praise God, Raymond's faith was the foundation of his life. He often expressed gratitude for the love of his family and the opportunities life afforded him. His genuine nature and caring heart touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.
A celebration of Raymond's life will be announced at a later date by the family, where all who knew and loved him are invited to gather, share stories, and honor a remarkable man.
Raymond Alfred Silva will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his unwavering love, infectious laughter, and the countless memories created with family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and joy that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know him.
