Ronnie Hugh Blackwood age 58, of PInson passed away Tuesday, September 9th, 2014 at UAB Hospital. Survivors include mother Mozelle Blackwood; sons David Poe and Justin Blackwood; daughters Stacey Elrod and Shay Baugh; brothers David (Elizabeth) Blackwood and Donnie (Becky) Blackwood; nephew Vince Blackwood; niece Lisa Smith; special friend Susan Bradshaw Giles. He is preceded in death by his father Paul Blackwood. The family will receive friends at The Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home Thursday, September 11th, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 12th, 2014 at 11:00 am at The Locust Fork Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Oneonta, Alabama. Mr. Blackwood enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, cars and gardening. He loved his 2 dogs Spenser and Bailey. He attended Inglenook Elementary, Inglenook Academy, UAB and UAB School of Law. He served 19 years with the Vestivia Police Department. Mr. Blackwood currently worked as a self-employed Attorney. He has worked with Judge Burns and the Juvenile Court of Blount County. Blount County/ Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
