Obituary

Rubin Clayton Clemons, age 77, of Cleveland passed away Monday, February 13th, 2017 at Diversicare in Oneonta. Mr. Clemons was known to most as "the Candy Man." He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf. He adored children and loved gathering with his family and friends. Mr. Clemons was retired from Food Giant as a Meat Market Manager. Survivors include wife Beatrice "Becky" Frances Goodwin Clemons; son Anthony Clayton Clemons and wife Marian Connelly Clemons; daughter Tina Clemons Richardson and husband Scott E. Richardson; brother James Harold Clemons; sister Judy Ann Pack and husband Bill; sister-in-laws Mary Kay Clemons, Janice Husky Clemons, Mary Christine Clemons; granddaughter Kaci Lynne Richardson. He is preceded in death by his parents James Hendrix and Grace Clemons; brothers Billy Ray Clemons, Thomas Clemons, Ferrell Dwight Clemons; and sister-in-law Jimmie Clemons. The family will receive friends at the Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home Thursday, February 16th, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 17th, 2017 at 11:00 am in Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Hartselle Memory Gardens in Hartselle, Alabama. Blount County/ Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
