Ruby Mae "Big Momma" (Young ) Lessley, age 86, of Blountsville, Alabama passed away peacefully Thursday, September 26th, 2024 at her residence.

Mrs. Lessley was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Ethel Young, her husband James "Andy" Lessley, son Delynn Swafford, grandson Kevin Swafford, brother Elton Young, sister Shairlyn Chambers and niece Dianna Kent.

Mrs. Lessley was survived by her daughters Deborah Gilley (Benny) and Tonya Knight, grandchildren Misty Camp (Mikey), Kelsey and Kenneth Swafford, Zane Knight, Dawson Knight, Ethan Knight, Lessley Knight and her ex-son-in-law Brent Knight, great grandchildren Skylar Chapple (Amber), Savanah Chapple and Gracie Swafford, great great grandchildren Greyson and Kaceton Chapple, Gwen and Lyla Darty, step granddaughter Denise Smith (Drew), step great granddaughter Caitlyn Smith, step great grandson Foster Smith, step great great grandson Yarrie Sparks, aunt Carolyn Chatham, sister-in-law Marilyn Young, nephew William Elton Young, Jr. great niece Diandra Bowman (Corey) and great nephew Little Mac and Nikki Kent, and one special loving companion Bandit, she was also survived by numerous other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home 17885 St. Hwy. 160 Cleveland, Alabama 35049, Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 from12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 at 2:00 pm. in the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jr Thomas officiating. Burial to follow at Moncrief Cemetery, 2055 Moncrief Road Gardendale, Alabama 35071. Pallbearers will be Skylar Chapple, Greyson Chapple, Michael Carr, Corey Bowman, Brent Knight, Zane Knight and Ethan Knight.

Mrs. Lessley enjoyed shopping. Enjoyed watching QVC in her spare time and she was an avid Alabama Football Fan. She enjoyed going on cruises and seeing all parts of the world, but most of all she enjoyed spending quality time with her loving family. "Big Momma" will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her and loved her. The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses with Aveanna Hospice, Jeremy, Shawn and Cassidy for giving their loved one such special care and love.
