Russell (Rusty) Basler, age 40, of Oneonta passed away Thursday, September 18th, 2014 at his residence. Survivors include wife Brenda Wilkerson Basler; son Russell Alan Basler; daughter Candice Leigh Basler; brothers Perry (Tammy) Basler, Michael (Pam) Basler; sisters Cynthia (Tim) Richards, Angie Lawson; a host of nieces, nephews and friends., Mr. Basler is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Elma Claudine Basler. The family will receive friends at The Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home Saturday, September 20th, 2014 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 20th, 2014 at 1:00 pm at The Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Antioch Cemetery in Oneonta, Alabama. Mr. Basler enjoyed cooking, grilling, vehicle restoration, fishing, and Alabama football. In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations to be made to The Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home to help with the funeral expenses. Blount County/ Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
