Samuel Truman Ellis, age 52, of Blountsville passed away Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016 at St. Vincent's East. Survivors include sons Samuel Tanner Ellis, Thomas Cole Ellis; daughter Samantha (Brandon) Taylor; brother Hubert David (Sharon) Ellis; sisters Norma Marie (Benny) Dorsett, Rachel (Bobby) Watkins; grandchildren Samuel Braden Taylor, William Brandon Taylor, Evan Blake Taylor, Kaitlyn Eve Grace Taylor. He is preceded in death by his parents John Hubert and Evelyn Gertrude Ellis; wife Tami Sue Ellis; and brother John Alvin Etheridge Ellis. The family will receive friends at the Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel 17885 State Hwy 160 Cleveland, Alabama 35049 on Thursday, May 5th, 2016 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Funeral Services will be follow at 1:00 pm in Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Dailey's Chapel Cemetery in Oneonta, Alabama . Mr. Ellis was previously employed with Golden Flake as a diesel mechanic for many years. He was a great artist loving to draw and sketch; was a pitcher in high school at Shades Valley High School in his younger days; coached Little League baseball, avid Alabama fan and Nascar fan especially Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. and he enjoyed cooking.
