Sandra Jill Laird Richardson, age 75, died in her beloved mountaintop home on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. She was the devoted wife of William (Bill) Richardson whom she married on October 8, 1994.

Sandra was born January 12, 1947 to Marvin Columbus Laird and Willodean Sewell Laird. She loved her parents with all her heart.

Although she was an elementary school paraprofessional and director of a women's shelter professionally, her greatest calling was that of mother to her two daughters, Jill Dianne and Kimberly. Sandra enjoyed music, photography and crafting.

In addition to her sweet husband Bill, Sandra is survived by her loving daughters Jill Finnerty Ricardo(Jason) and Kimberly Finnerty Coates, her nine grandchildren Roman, Rhett, Reagan, Rio, Rhys, Ruby, Raphaela, Rocco Ricardo and Penelope Blesch, sister-in-law Elaine Laird, nieces Dianne Slayton Davis(Steve) and Beth Laird Lanier(Glenn), nephews Scott Laird(Sandy), Patrick and Joshua Davis and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Marvin Columbus Laird and Willodean Sewell Laird, brother Donald E. Laird, sister Mary Frances Slayton, and brother-in-law Billy E. Slayton.

Sandra's funeral will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until 11:00 am and services will begin at 11:00 am at the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Johnny Allred officiating. Interment will be held in Florida.
