Sarah Evelyn (Hays) Culwell, age 90, of Hayden passed away Friday, December 16th, 2016 at Hanceville Nursing Home. Survivors include daughters Nelda and Paul Cunningham, Florine and Richard Johnson; grandchildren Steven and Corey Cunningham, John-David Cunningham, Rachel and Timmy Adkinson, Tom and Shannon Lofton; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild., . parents Vester and Lizzie Hays; husband Tom E. Cullwell; son Bert Culwell; brothers Ottis and L. V. Hays. The family will receive friends at the Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home 17885 State Highway 160 Cleveland, Alabama 35049 on Tuesday, December 20th, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 21st, 2016 at 2:00 pm in Union Grove Baptist Church 8223 State Hwy 160 Hayden, Alabama 35079, lying in state from 1pm until service time. Burial to follow in adjoining cemetery. Mrs. Culwell was retired from Blount Memorial Hospital as a Admitting Clerk. She loved being involved with church activities; adored her grandchildren; enjoyed sewing, cooking, and working with her flowers in her yard.
