Sharon Mae Johnson

Sharon Mae Johnson, born February 1, 1945, passed away on September 5, 2026.

Sharon will be remembered as a woman whose life was centered on love, faith, and family. She was the mother of three sons and took deep joy in her family, always holding them closest to her heart. A loving grandmother and loving sister, she brought warmth to those around her and made home and family the center of her life.

She found happiness in simple and beautiful things. Sharon loved flowers and loved being outside, taking in the peace and beauty of the world around her. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and dancing, and she especially loved to visit an Old Covered Bridge. She also loved going to church, a reflection of the faith that was an important part of her life. Through these joys, and through the care she gave so freely, she created lasting memories for those who knew and loved her.

Above all, Sharon loved her family most of all. She is survived by her sons, Dale Brooks (Lynn), David L. Brooks, and Don Brooks. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Chris Brooks (Rachel), Don Brooks, Jr. (Caitlin), and Montanna Hogeland (Jesse); and her great-grandchildren, Madison Brooks, Mallory Brooks, Bradley Brooks, Billie Brooks, and Raven Hogeland. Sharon is also survived by her brother, Willie Henderson; her sisters, Judy Osbourne and Marsha Fifer.  A special thanks to Tracey and James Dixon; Tracey was always like a daughter to Mrs. Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Johnson; her father, James David Henderson; her mother, Odelia Moore Buford; and her sister, Geraldine Carlee.

A graveside service will be held on September 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Joy Cemetery, 2245 Five Points Road, Cleveland, Alabama 35049.

Sharon Mae Johnson will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know her. Her love for her family, her gentle joys, and the memories she leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of those she cherished.
