Sharon Michie Petty, born on August 29, 1940, in Louisiana, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, at her home in Hayden, Alabama. Sharon dedicated her life to caring for her family and nurturing a warm, loving home.

Sharon (Michie) dedicated 20 years to Lorch’s, at the main office in Birmingham, balancing the daily sales books of the various Lorch’s stores.

Throughout her life, Sharon exhibited a profound love for nature and animals, particularly her dogs, reflecting her adventurous spirit and compassionate heart. She embraced the great outdoors with enthusiasm, enjoying activities such as white-water rafting and horseback riding. She was an avid reader, finding joy and solace in the pages of books that transported her to new worlds. Sharon was also known for her quiet adventurous nature, always seeking new experiences.

Sharon was also an honored member of the Eastern Star, Mulga Chapter. She attended and held several of the positions during the many years of her membership with the order of the Eastern Star.

Sharon is survived by her son, Robert Adam Petty; daughters, Virginia Blake and Tracie Crutchfield (Donald); and grandchildren, Amanda Pack (Buddy), Patrick Petty, Nealy Ann Holt (Nick), Taurla Munley (T.J.), Adam Gardner, and Sharon Chelsi Gardner. She cherished her legacy as the family matriarch, leaving behind 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward. Sharon is also survived by her sister, Dauna Scofield (Robert)

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Thomas Petty; son, James Wilson Petty; her parents, James Matthew Vickers and Gloria Lorraine (Boone) Vickers; grandsons, William T. (Tommy) Johnson, Jr; and Logan Gardner; and daughter-in-laws, Donna Malpass Petty and Marilyn Littlejohn Petty.

A visitation will be held on February 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Cleveland Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 11:00 AM, concluding at 11:30 AM. The burial will take place at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama, starting at 2:00 PM and ending at 3:00 PM.

Pallbearers will include Sage Gardner, Jalen Gordon, Donald Crutchfield, Travis Walker, Adam Gardner, and T.J. Munley, who will honor her memory during this solemn occasion.

Sharon Michie Petty will be remembered fondly for her dedication to family, her love for nature, and her giving spirit. She leaves behind a rich legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.
