Obituary

Timothy "Tim" Curtis Graves, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, was born on August 2, 1950, in Cullman, Alabama. He passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, in Hayden, Alabama, at the age of 74. Tim's life was a testament to love, hard work, and devotion to family and community.

He was the cherished son of Luther Curtis Graves and Barbara Beatrice (Hamm) Graves. Tim was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara Ann Turner, who he lovingly remembered throughout his life. The warmth and compassion instilled in him by his family shaped the incredible man he became.

Tim is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Janice Wynn Graves. Their love story is one of mutual respect, unwavering support, and profound companionship. Together, they raised two wonderful daughters, Kristi (Brian) Love and Sherry (Blake) Farmer, who have continued the legacy of love and kindness that their parents embodied. Tim was a proud grandfather to Tyler (Lauren) Ramos, Justin (Kyndal) Ramos, Kaylan Ladosky, and Justin Farmer (Frances) he delighted in the joy brought to him by his great-grandchildren, Emery and Wrenley Ramos. Tim's family meant the world to him, and he expressed this through countless moments of laughter, stories, and cherished memories.

Tim was an active member of his community and attended Nectar Baptist Church, where he found fellowship and a sense of belonging. His faith was an integral part of his life, guiding him through challenges and inspiring him to be a source of strength for those around him.

In addition to his commitment to his family and faith, Tim had a passion for peach farming. He took pride in nurturing the land and cultivating the fruits of his labor, often sharing his harvest with family and friends. Tim enjoyed traveling and exploring new places, but nothing brought him greater joy than the times spent with loved ones—he cherished every conversation and connection. His warm smile and kind words made a lasting impression on anyone fortunate enough to meet him.

Tim's life will be celebrated during a funeral service on December 4, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel, located at 17885 State Highway 160, Cleveland, Alabama. Visitation will be held the evening prior, on December 3, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Bro. Daryl Holt and Dewey Wilson will officiate the service, and Tim will be laid to rest at Nectar Cemetery. His legacy will be honored by pallbearers Tyler and Justin Ramos, along with Andy Marsh, Joey Walker, Ray Blackmon, and Darrin Dunn.

Timothy "Tim" Curtis Graves leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever resonate in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love that binds his family together. As we gather to celebrate his life, we find comfort in knowing that he is at peace, watching over us as we continue to honor his memory. Rest in peace, Tim. You were truly loved and will never be forgotten.
