IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Travis John
Smith
April 16, 1979 – March 29, 2025
Travis John Smith a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend of Locust Fork, Alabama, passed away suddenly on March 29, 2025, at the age of 45 at his residence. He was born on April 16, 1979, in Omaha, Nebraska, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, and memorable moments, surrounded by family and friends.
Travis was a devoted husband to his wife of ten years, Brooke Lee Smith, with whom he shared a deep and abiding love. Together, they created a beautiful family that filled their lives with joy. He is survived by his sons, Brandon, Abel, and Ashton Smith, and his daughters, Aubree Hawkins, Alexi Lear, Zoey, and Sophia Smith. His children were the pride and joy of his life, and he dedicated countless hours to their activities, cheering them on in every endeavor.
Travis was the cherished son of Kenneth Francis and Pamela Jean Smith. He is preceded in death by his nephew John Parsons, as well as his beloved grandmother Norma Chapman, grandfather Bud Chapman, and father-in-law Bruce Hawkins. His absence leaves a profound void in their lives.
Not only is Travis survived by his immediate family, but he also leaves behind his loving parents, Kenneth and Pamela Smith, and is remembered fondly by his brothers, Chad Smith (and wife Rachel, along with their children Lyric and Easton) and Chris Martin (and wife Megan). He is also survived by his sisters, Heather Clark (and husband Scott, along with their daughters Hannah, Emily, and Kaitlyn) and Terri Hanna (and husband Rick, along with their daughter Allison Hopson and her husband Devin). Travis had a close-knit relationship with his extended family, including his uncles Howard Smith (and wife Pat, along with their children Amanda, Lynn, and Jennifer) and Larry Smith (and wife Twila, along with their children Clarrisa and Jamie), his aunt Karen Bishop and her children Paul, Josh and Sarah. Additionally, he leaves behind his dear mother-in-law, Lee Ann Maness, and adored granddaughters Raeya and Blakely, who brought immense joy to his life.
Throughout his life, Travis was known for his many interests and passions. He found great joy in golfing, fishing, and gardening. He was also an exceptional cook, often found smoking meats on his smoker and preparing delicious meals for his family and friends. A lover of games, he enjoyed playing poker with good friends, and he was a devoted sports fan, particularly loyal to his favorite team, the Auburn Tigers.
Travis's love for his family was unparalleled. He was a hands-on dad who was actively involved in his children's lives, supporting them in their activities and celebrating their achievements. His laughter, kindness, and enthusiasm for life brought happiness to all who knew him.
A celebration of Travis's remarkable life will be held on Saturday April 12, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Locust Fork Baptist Church. This gathering will honor the joyous spirit of a man who touched so many lives, and while there will be no visitation, the family invites all who knew and loved Travis to come together in remembrance and celebration of his life.
As we say goodbye to Travis John Smith, let us carry forward his legacy of love, laughter, and devotion. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
